About 2 weeks ago, I was browsing the BlowOutCards Forum when I received a PM from one of the fellow members there, Blake (Freli55). I've dealt with Blake before and he's always been very generous in helping me acquire cards from my collection, and once again, totally out of the clear blue sky, he said he had some Enroth cards for me and away things went. While I didn't know what to expect, the contents did not disappoint me when I received a small box of cards on this Friday afternoon...
Among a few extra ITG base cards (2009, 2010, 2011) and a 2011-12 ITG Between The Pipes GoalieGraph Autograph (which were much appreciated duplicate cards), he also sent me two new variations of cards that I needed for my Enroth collection as well. I've listed them below:
The PSA Graded 2009-10 The Cup RPA is a nice POP 1 for the collection. I truthfully didn't know PSA had graded any of Enroth's 09-10 Cup RPA's, so this was a neat addition for sure. My jaw really hit the floor though when I was flipping through this small stack of cards and saw the ITG Superlative Vault Ruby 1/1 stamped card. For those who don't remember, I recently acquired another Superlative Vault variation of this exact same card back in April after I had just found out that these triple memorabilia cards had Superlative Vault variations, so to acquire one more was quite the surprise. There may or may not be a Blue (Sapphire) Stamp variation of this card out there (The Green and Red Stamps were guaranteed from this product, but the Blue stamp 1/1 is up in the air on its existence), so I'll be on the lookout to see if one can be eventually found. I gotta give a big shoutout to Blake on this one, you just made my night! Happy Collecting everyone, - Aaron As a fellow Hockey Moderator on SportsCardForum, I've had the pleasure of knowing about Sean's legendary Bill Ranford collection, along with his All-Time Edmonton Oilers Collection, for many years now.
As a goalie collector myself, hearing about Sean's new Ranford pickups was always something I quickly resonated with and I was stoked to feature him on my blog this afternoon. Upper Deck released new images of 2019-20 SP Authentic. I think the cards look great this year!
Check out more images below: The Goaltending Museum.
Remember that name. I say remember it because I'm sure it will be coming to a city or Expo near you at some point, if it hasn't already. Bruce's Goaltending Museum is something that I've had the pleasure to watch expand for a good number of years now. From his monthly pickups to his show set ups, Bruce's outspoken passion for his Goaltending Museum knows no limits. If you're a fan of goaltending, game-used memorabilia, hockey history, or a combination of all 3, then hold onto your hats and enjoy the ride in the newest instalment of Collectors Corner: This past month has been great for my collections. Enroth cards aside, I've been making some great progress on a side project of mine.
After a short wait in transit, this Evgeni Nabokov 300 Win Club card popped into my mail box today, crossing a much-needed card off the wantlist. The Nabokov card was part of the first instalment of the A Piece Of History: 300 Win Club set released back in 2012-13 Upper Deck Series 1. Seeing as how much this set has been collected over the years, Nabokov rarely shows up, so you need to strike fast if you want one for your collection. Luckily for me I was able to snatch it up before anyone else, gaining another step closer to a complete set. For those wondering, Nabokov is a Group B with odds listed at 1:4,754 packs. So yeah, you could say these things are tough pulls. Stay tuned for more! As always, Happy Collecting, Aaron The 10th Edition of Collectors Corner features Steven's super collection of none other than #10 Pavel Bure. When it comes to the 'Russian Rocket', everyone knows who he is by the nickname alone. Bure's skill set on the ice made him into one of the best players of his era.
In Steven's case, he decided Bure would be his number one focal point of his card collecting journey. After a few tweets between me and Steven a little while ago, I jumped at the chance to feature Steven's Pavel Bure collection: I haven't done an official #CardOfTheWeek post for quite sometime now, but who's counting?
Anyways, I've been up to other things on this blog which you may or may have not seen yet. I have started a new Collectors Corner segment on my blog where collectors from all over the globe can get their team/player/set collections featured right here on this blog! I've wanted to host these showcases for a while now and this card blog finally gives me the platform and audience to do just that. There have been many collectors who've stepped up and contacting me to get their collections featured and I'll happily do just that. The feedback from other collectors have been great so far! Blog news aside, I was appreciating other cards from my collection this afternoon and stumbled upon this beauty: 03-04 SPA Future Watch Autographs of Marc-Andre Fleury, numbered #/999. Ever since I started my Fleury collection a few years ago, this was always the top card on my list. I paid a tiny fraction of what these things are going for today as Fleury's hobby value has exploded in the last few years after his historic move to the Las Vegas Golden Knights expansion team. Although I'd probably never be able to afford one now, I'm glad this card will permanently reside in my personal collection from here on out. I also have a few other sweet rookie-year cards of MAF. Maybe I'll show more of those off later? Do you have any Fleury cards I'd like to see? Link them in the comments, if you could :) Happy Collecting, Aaron |
