I want to preface this blog post by saying that I hope everyone is staying safe during these times in the middle of COVID-19. I hope that you are all adjusting accordingly and staying positive along the way.
Okay, now let's get to the cards!
Today I was fortunate enough to add 3 cards for the collection today:
The Brothers In Arms Patches /10 and the 3rd Sweater Prime /5 are two cards that I've been waiting to add for quite sometime, as I've lost out on a few copies of each card over the last couple of years, so seeing these cards being added to my extensive collection this afternoon was a sight for sore eyes.
The ITG Superlative card was an interesting one. Prior to acquiring this card, I had no idea that unreleased copies of this card from this specific set were included in this 2014-2015 In The Game Superlative Vault product release, so it came as a nice surprise when this Buffalo Sabres / Ryan Miller collector made this card available (along with the other two cards in this post) from his Personal Collection.
I will definitely keep my eye out for more stamp colour variations of this card in the future. From my limited knowledge of this product, there should be a Ruby (Red) Vault Stamped variation out there and maybe a Blue (Sapphire) Stamp variation as well. If anyone has any leads on some others, please let me know! :)
This small but mighty 3-card mail day had been a long time coming, too. I bought these cards exactly one month ago and it took a full month to arrive from New York. With everything going on, I was getting worried that this package was lost in the mail, but sure enough it eventually arrived. This tested my patience and I will be sure to use this as another lesson when the mail gets slow. Sometimes it's super fast..... other times it's not. It is what it is.
Anyways, I hope that with the added downtime we are all able to appreciate our cards and show some off to others stuck in the same boat during this time. I've had a blast scrolling through the hobby forums lately and seeing everyone's show-and-tell threads with all of their goodies.
Happy Collecting everyone and please stay safe.
