Showcasing the cards I was able to snag during the last few weeks. The first card is a simple 15-16 O-Pee-Chee Retro card, with the addition on a IP/TTM auto. I have about 10 of these types of cards in my collection currently, and I'm always looking to add more when I can. I really like how base/insert cards can look with the addition of the autograph, plus it adds another element to my overall collection, which is also a plus in my mind. The 15-16 OPC Retro parallels looked great, one of their best throwback designs in recent memories for me, so adding an autographed version of this card was really cool. Next up are some magnificent additions coming all the way from Belarus. KHL team Dinamo Minsk (which is based in Minsk, Belarus) is where Enroth currently plays. While I enjoy following his career in the KHL, some of his new KHL cards have been tough to acquire due to the lack of avenues for collecting KHL/European cards here in North America. It's simply that much harder on this side of the pond. However, like all collectors must deal with at some point, all you can do is keep at it and hope that these cards make its way into your PC's eventually. A few weeks ago I was interacting online with a few collectors who collect KHL cards, telling them I collect Jhonas Enroth cards, and one of them reached out to me to tell me that he works closely with the Dinamo Minsk team and can help me out. What he provided me was absolutely amazing in every way possible. I truly can't believe these items are in my collection, and I want to thank this person for willing to help me add to my collection. This card was autographed by Enroth at their rink and distubuted to fans before Dinamo Minsk's first 2018-19 Pre-Season game. I remember reading an article about this pre-season giveaway on Dinamo Minsk's team website, how they would be distrubuting autographed copies of these SeReal KHL Dinamo Minsk 70th Anniversary base cards, and I thought that was really cool. There are also some other 70th Anniversary base cards with IP autographs of current players of the team given out through the team. A very cool addition to my collection, as most arena giveaway cards can be tough to track down! While this autograph card has no identafiable markings, COA, or serial numbers to say that it's an arena giveaway card from that pre-season promotion, you kind of have to trust the person who you're getting it from that this card is legit and actually signed by the player on the card. The card pictured above is card I didn't think I would ever receive. This card was produced by the team as part of their New Year's Exclusive set, which was only given out to certain staff members of the team and Dinamo Minsk season ticket holders, and they were not available or sold to the public in any capacity, so I figured I would never seen this card as it would be stashed within Dinamo Minsk team collectors (which are many). So pumped to have this card. I really like it! just finding information about this set was hard, so to cross this off the list definitely felt good. One of my favourite cards in my collection right now! And finally, let's end things off with not one, but two autographed pictures signed by Enroth himself when this collector friend went to work at Minsk arena.
The personalization on the first photo was unexpected, but I thought it was pretty cool. It was nice to have a sweet close-up shot of Enroth stopping a puck for Dinamo Minsk during the 2017-18 season. This photo also gave a great open space for the autograph as well, which makes that piece look great in my opinion. Since I started collecting Enroth, I've always wanted a signed Team Sweden item for the collection, but they are surprisingly hard to find, so adding the second signed photo was a great add. I should note that that photo was taken during the 2013 IIHF World Championships, when Sweden won the gold medal and Enroth was named goaltender of the tournament. So there you have it! You're all caught up on my recent additions. Hoping for many more in the near future! As always, thanks for checking out my blog.
