My Extravagant Expo Pickup: Two Toronto Maple Leafs Game-Used Jerseys!

2016-17 Jhonas Enroth Toronto Maple leafs Game-Worn Home & Away Jerseys.

While attending the 2022 Sports Card & Memorabilia Expo, I found not one, but two amazing pieces for my collection. I finally managed to pickup a Game-Worn Jhonas Enroth Toronto Maple Leafs jersey from his brief time with the Leafs.

​I managed to connect with Real Sports (Owned by the MLSE) before the Expo in hopes of acquiring one of these jerseys, since they are the official supplier of game-worn Maple Leafs memorabilia, receiving their items directly through the team to offer to the public. 

After no luck in hearing a concrete response, I made my way to their booth on Friday night, and after a quick discussion, they realized that I was the person who had sent them an email a few days prior. To my extreme surprise, they had actually put these jerseys aside for me on hold. Considering they were gearing up for a show, in Toronto, I would have suspected them to just carry on and sell their inventory as soon as possible, so to hold two quality pieces for me was a nice touch. Thanks, Real Sports! 

I had been to their booth before at the previous Expo, as well as online, and I hadn't seen any Enroth jerseys, so the fact they had two in stock also surprised me. I was told that the Leafs keep a few years of memorabilia on-hand before dealing it to Real Sports to sell, so even though these recent sets of jerseys were from 2016-17 season, they had not been offered up publicly before. To make matters cooler, these were the only two Jerseys Enroth had worn with the Maple Leafs.

These jerseys were also used in backup appearances as well. Here is Enroth during warmups on November 11th, when the Maple Leafs took on the Flyers at Home. The Hall of Fame tribute night was on this night and the jersey featured a patch on the front. These patches were later removed.
