When SeReal announced that they were releasing their 2017-18 KHL Exclusive Collection, I was stoked. I was hoping for a few more Enroth cards to be produced, and I was not disappointed. When the checklist was released, I saw that Enroth would be getting 4 new cards in this collection.
The two cards that caught my eye were the Mask cards and the parallels that followed. Although Enroth wasn't included in the first versions of Mask cards in the product, he was included in the Patch / Stick variations (both numbered /5), which was nice. It would be my first opportunity to grab some KHL memorabilia from his first KHL season with Dinamo Minsk. Way cool. At first, I thought I'd be able to snag these cards quite easily, I mean, how much competition could there be, right? I was wrong on so many levels. I think the first few copies of these Patch / Stick cards were nabbed by hardcore Dinamo Minsk collectors who seem to have endless pockets at times. They sweep up Dinamo cards so fast once they hit the open market. I was warned that they can bring quite the competition, but i hadn't seen their full force until now. I guess the rare nature of this Exclusive Collection brings out the best in fellow collectors and their chase to add some very unique cards to their personal collections. After finding and making a deal for these two cards (with the help of my Russian friend across the pond. Thanks, Nail!) These two cards were making there way to me here in Canada. The stick arrived very smoothly, the patch version however.... is another story. In late October, Canada Post went on strike. They started rotating strikes after some time, but halted all international parcels until further notice. After Canada Post workers started their duties again, there was a massive backlog of parcels still waiting to be delivered. Finally, almost two months later, I finally received the patch card 5/5 today. for the PC. So glad I was able to put these two cards together!
