The 600th card in my Jhonas Enroth card collection was added today!
Today, after hitting a pretty cool collection milestone, I was reminded about how awesome this hobby really is.
Back when I started collecting cards in the late 90's (until 2005-ish when I started collecting "for real"), cards were never about value or getting a 'good' deal in a trade, selling or flipping cards - it was just about having fun with your friends and collecting sweet goalie cards to enjoy.
While my collection and collecting goals since then have changed, the foundation stays the same: collecting cards is fun and I want to keep it that way.
Today, while going back and sorting through some old cards to make some homemade packs of cards for Halloween, I silently achieved a pretty big collection milestone within my Enroth PC when I stumbled across an old 2014-15 O-Pee-Chee base card of his. After staring at this duplicate Enroth card I forgot I owned, I then realized I had just reached 600 total cards. A whopping number to say the least for this humble collection of mine.
After putting this card in a penny sleeve (and writing on the back of it for good measure), I quickly tucked the card into one of my 9-pocket sleeved pages and flipped open my laptop to start this blog entry and record this collection milestone.
This collection is far from over, as I'd like to continue this collection for as long as I can. For those who have traded or dealt with me over the years, I sincerely thank you for all of the deals we've made. This collection would be nothing without you all and I am sure I will interact with many more like-minded collectors moving forward.
