Another Goalie Card From... Finland?

I love everything about European hockey cards. The varying designs, text, uniforms (yes, even the dorky sponsorship logos), everything. While drumming up ideas about how I want to truly enjoy the cards I continue to pickup, a card like this was just what I needed. 

As a smaller goalie myself, I've always been a fan of the "undersized" goalies who are represented at the professional ranks. Most of you probably know of Juuse "Juice" Saros due to his stellar play with the Nashville Predators these past few years, but his pre-NHL days with HPK in his native country of Finland cannot be ignored, and a Finnish-Issued card was just what the doctor ordered.

As for the card itself, this Stars insert set comes from the recently released 2019-2020 Cardset Finland product, highlighting the league stars from different era's, with Saros being a notable standout player from the 2010's. What I love the most about this card is the background "universe" design that seems to blend seamlessly to the front end of the card, making it mesh smoothly with Saros' picture and bright, bold orange HPK jersey which pops right off the card and into the eyes of the collector. I've also included a picture of the back of the card because I absolutely ADORE the Finnish text on the back. I have no clue what it says, but how cool is that?

I've been mentally cataloging a list how many nations are represented inside my hockey card collection, which makes for a pretty cool standalone blog post (more on the "Your Card Collection & The World" topic later, potentially), so I'm happy to have finally added Finland to that evergrowing list of card countries in my personal collection.

This card is currently incoming and I hope to have it in hand very soon!
