I little while ago, I was made aware of a special set of team issued Orebro HK (SHL) cards that I was previously unaware of. As of this month, I was fortunate enough to land one for my collection and I decided to do some digging to uncover the origin of these cards. During the 2023-24 season, Orebro HK posted some photos on their social media accounts highlighting a match/game profile of a particular player, which also gave by an opportunity to meet that player after that game at home in the team store. Once I learned about these player profile games, I decided to to some digging and see if Enroth ever had his card featured on any social media posts. Sadly, I wasn't able to find any. Although this didn't mean he didn't have a card created for him, I didn't know how else I would get any sort of confirmation one way or the other. After the season finished, I figured that was that. No sign of any more player cards or completed team set that I could find, so I figured it was a one-off for only a select few players. A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled across a Facebook post from a sports photographer who would frequent Orebro Home games, and noticed he had posted a link to an article which featured some of his photos from a 2024-25 premiere fan event that Orebro held in preparation for their upcoming season and to kick-off the preseason that was starting up the very next week. This event allowed fans to meet the 2024-25 team members, and allowed them to take in a inter-squad game as well. After hearing about this fan event, I posted on a Orebro HK fan page on Facebook to see if I could find out anymore information about the event and If anyone had seen or owned the Enroth card. Someone posted a photo from his autograph table that he indeed had a card made, which was really nice to see. Low and behold, a few days later, another fan had commented that they owned an autographed copy. After a few messages back and forth, and smooth deal was reached for this card. Awesome! After receiving the card in-hand, I found myself really enjoying the simple design of the card. Similar to a lot of team issued cards I've seen in the past, the team used basic headshot images of the player in their gear. The surrounding border and text of the card I found to be really unique as well using an off-white colour, so kudos to the communications/design department on that. The backs of the card is a white blank back. Happy to have landed another team issued card for the collection. Due to the mix of uniqueness and rarity, they are some of my favourite type of cards to add. Do you have any team issued card in your collection?
