As someone who really enjoys hearing stories about how card collections came to be, I thought Josh's story on what inspired his Nathan Horton card collection was extra special. To have that close connection to a player in your small town make it to the NHL is a story that always ages well. As far as the collections go, Josh has one of the best out there and one that I've personally enjoyed following along with for years. Enjoy the 9th edition of Collectors Corner! Josh's IntroductionMy name is Josh Packham and I started collecting hockey cards when I was seven. Like many others I got started with 1990 Pro Set and many other sets during the early 90's. One of the main reasons is it was a way to get closer to the game that I loved watching. I love the photography and write ups on the back of the cards as they provide so much information. As cards started adding jerseys/sticks they just became that much better and I've continued collecting to this day. What/Who Do You Collect?I have a few different collections. I collect Toronto Maple Leafs, Alexander Ovechkin, Matt Johnson but my main collection is of Nathan Horton. Why Did You Start Collecting The Player/Set/Team?The main reason I started collecting Nathan Horton is because we went to high school together and was in a couple of classes with my brother. I think it's fantastic when a person from a small town makes it to the big leagues. I also like the fact that he was able to win a Stanley Cup and brought it to our small town for his day with the cup. What’s Your Favourite Card or Item(s) in Your Collection? My two favourite cards are probably the dual shield with Martin St. Louis that I own and his 2003-04 Upper Deck Premier auto patch rc 16/99 as I have a soft spot for jersey numbered items. My favorite non card item is probably the game worn CHL all star jersey that is autographed that I own. What's On Your Current Wantlist? Are there any ‘White Whales’ you’d like to add one day?The following 3 cards, have been cards I've been looking for a long time, I believe they all exist and I just can't find them for whatever reason.
