I wanted to reboot this idea again after garnering much more interest by my fellow collectors voicing their interest in coming on this blog and answering a few questions for me. With that said, let's get into the 2nd Collector Showcase with Thorsten's absolutely epic Leaf In The Game Used collection. He's a collector from Germany who was more than happy to share more about his collection and provide some amazing pictures inside this featured article! Introduction: Thorsten , born 1979 , living in Germany . My first taste of Card collecting was in fall of 1992 when we did a trip to Dortmund , and I first saw sportscards in a larger Shopping store ( Karstadt Sport ) . I think These were 1992 Topps Baseball , 92/93 Hoops , 92/93 Topps Hockey . I sometimes travelled there again by Train to pick up some loose packs , single Cards . My first order of a box was some time in 1993 when I discovered a german seller was doing this , and I orderer there quite regularly ( as far as I could being still in school ) I collected all 4 Major Sports because I had interest in all of them , but concentrated on Hockey ( and Boxing ) in ~ 2005 . What/Who Do You Collect? Nowadays I "only" collect Leaf In The Game-Used ( ITGU ) ; 17/18 Leaf Stickwork ; 13/14 ITG Stickwork ; as well as Boxing AU`s / Fight-Worn Cards , and Tampa Bay Lightning GU / AU . I sold my Collection completely a total of 2 times ( 2004 ; 2010 ) , but each time began again after some months . Why Did You Start Collecting The Player/Set/Team? I Always liked ITG Cards way more than Upperdeck , and think it`s a pity we currently have a licensing Monopol . I have no desire to collect Upperdeck Cards because in General I don`t find them overly appealing , and the memorabilia is not on the Level ITG / Leaf uses ( of Course there are exceptions ) . At first I was doubtful when Leaf took over ITG , but beginning in ~ 2017 , I really liked their products . My favourite is 2018 ITGU , of which I opened 2 cases plus some solo boxes . What’s Your Favourite Card or Item(s)? There are quite some : -ITG Ultimate Memorabilia Made to Order Past Present & Future , which I pulled myself , and redeemed for Maurice RIchard , Teemu Selanne and Tyler Seguin - ITGU Vintage Memorabilia - Stickwork Nameplates / Lumbergraphs - Mike Tyson Autographs Over the years I pulled a lot of nice cards , that I otherwise would have never owned . I really like to open boxes myself. What's On Your Current Wantlist? Are there any ‘White Whales’ you’d like to add one day? I don`t have a wantlist :-) For me , it is a Hobby , I don`t collect a certain set , and I just collect what I like . That`s the good part , I don`t have this "you MUST get this or that Card to complete a set " Feeling . Contact Info: How can other collectors reach you? Hobbyinsider : Ohka dascardboard.eu : Ohka eBay : Becirovic email: th.lac@gmx.de Wow, now this is one amazing collection! Definitely starting things off with a bang in this Collector Showcase segment on my blog! I am really digging that Dynamic Duos Dual Patch /9 of Gretzky/Lemieux.... not to mention those insane vintage memorabilia pieces.

Super cool to learn more about Thorsten's collecting background. I have dealt with him a handful of times and he is truly an asset in this hobby, one of the best attitudes and outlooks I've encountered. I love seeing what cool stuff he adds to his collection!

Nice collection. While I have my opinions surrounding Leaf (I am not personally a fan of destroying historical items), collect what you like and yours is a nice collection.

What a great opportunity you're providing us with Aaron, I'm looking forward to seeing some spectacular collections. Thorsten, I really enjoyed seeing your highlighted cards. I totally agree with your thoughts on not having a white whale card, celebrate the cards you bring in without obsessing about the one you can't find.
